Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's history combines the virtues of family football scholarship and volunteerism in the community. His family's first name is his father was the youngest of nine kids raised in Eufala by Lucious Selmon. A second reason was he is the youngest of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey was one of the starters for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi Award as the best lineman in the country. He won two championships and 32-1-1 in his three seasons as Oklahoma's main man. In 1975, the National Football Foundation named him an Scholar-Athlete for the 3rd time in the year 1975. Selmon is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in educational studies. Lee Roy spent ten hours a week on volunteer work in his college days. After graduating Lee Roy relocating to Tampa which is where he played for nine years playing with Tampa's Buccaneers. There were three times he was named an All-Pro. He began his business career. The year 1988 was the first time he began working as an Account Relations Officer at First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed by the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute and the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored him in 1982 as being one of the top 10 youngsters from the United States. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in the height department and weighed 256 lbs as a college player he played for the team of 1975. In 1993, he was a part of the University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame recognized his in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Selmons' parents Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. were awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation.
