He was in the role of Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral election candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock) as well as the Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. He was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011 at the age of 27. In 1995, he graduated to the National Theatre School of Denmark. In addition to his part in The Killing, [1] was also a part of Borgen III, a Danish drama series that was highly regarded. He also had a prominent part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer, Charles Augustus Magnussen.In the American TV series House of Cards, he played the president of Russia. In 2018, he was awarded an International Emmy Award for his performance in the main character of the Danish TV drama Herrensveje. The show aired in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in the year 2019.
